If you would like to contribute, obtain a fresh, uncreased euro banknote and paint your design on the reverse, within the white area shown on this example note. All denominations of euros have a similar 'canvas' area on the reverse. Please leave the empty space above the banknote's serial number for Artnote security marking.
I have worked successfully with acrylic and oils on these notes. If you want to use a different medium, you may have to experiment on a note to ensure good adhesion first. If you have any other questions, contact us here.
Once we receive your artistically altered euro banknote, we will validate it with our additional security markings, list it on this website under ‘Contributors’ and donate it to a charity of your choice. Any notes carrying obscene images will be returned without validation.
When your Artnote is released, its serial number will be listed to enable anyone to follow its unique story.
